Our small sized nested bowl has so many uses you just have to pick up several to keep on hand. Our bowls are very cute holding candies, gummy bears and jelly beans at a kid’s party, or condiments at your next backyard barbecue. On each piece of our Blue Pukeko range, the Pukeko has been framed in our favourite cobolt blue stain. The inside of all the vessels are painted in a warm harvest colour that sets off the blue perfectly. The Pukeko has been painted with the addition of grass and a dragonfly so that it can mix n match with the White Pukeko range easily. The smallest of the set of 3 trays, this piece is perfect as a side plate at the dinner table or for that yummy piece of cake or cheese and crackers at morning tea. It can also be used as a general dish in the bathroom or a 'spoon holder' on your kitchen bench. Measures (mm): 145L x 145w x 20h Weight: 295g WHITE POHUTUKAWA DESIGN: Depicting the Pohutukawa flower in daylight, this design is simplified with a contemporary white background, letting the red of the flowers be the hero as they are in the NZ landscape. To match this design with its opposite range (the Black Pohutukawa), we have painted the underneath of the plates and the inside of the mugs and bowls in black creating a dynamic and contemporary look. The smallest size in a set of 3 sizes available. Sushi plates are very flat to the rim with a slight upturn at the corners. Small sushi plates are the equivalent to a standard side plate. They are very modern and contemporary in their shape and look wonderful in any setting. Modern trends were showing that our customers were wanting something more ‘clean-cut’ and simple so we took to the drawing board to achieve this without losing our very cute Pukeko character which is loved around the world. The result was to give the Pukeko an uncluttered crisp white background and to ground it with a bit of grass. And just for fun we gave it a dragonfly to play with! To tie it in with the original blue design we have coloured the insides of all the vessels and the under sides of all the plates and dishes with our signature rich cobolt blue stain. We wanted to recreate the natural beauty of the poppy flower whilst keeping it uncluttered and as striking as it is in real life. The brilliant red and velvet black of the petals have been incorporated with simple lines and tiny dots giving it a bit of artistic flair.
